Ludwig Von Mises School of Economics, an intensive immersion
in Austrian Economics. After completion of his undergraduate work,
Mr. Wruck attended law school at Valparaiso University School
of Law, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Donald W. Wruck, III maintains close
ties with his alma mater, serving on the Advisory Committee for
Social Sciences. In November of 2004 Carthage College dedicated
the Donald W. Wruck, III Seminar Room located in the new Clausen
Center for World Business.
Legal Experience
Mr. Wruck is a former deputy prosecuting attorney for the State
of Indiana. For more than six years now, Mr. Wruck has successfully
litigated a wide range of cases through his ever-growing private
practice. He is particularly proud to serve as general outside
counsel for the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program.
The program provides representation of abused and neglected children
during court proceedings to terminate their parental rights. Mr.
Wruck regularly serves as Judge Pro-Tem in the Lake Superior Courts.
Mr. Wruck is routinely sought after to lecture on a wide range
of topics to diverse audiences. For example, recently, Mr. Wruck
prepared materials for, and lectured at, a Continuing Legal Education
course on effective litigation of nursing home cases. He also
has spoken at seminars before groups of nurses on nursing home
malpractice avoidance.

Memberships include: Association of Trial Lawyers of America,
Indiana Bar Association, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, Lake
County Bar Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association
and Member Social Science Advisory Committee of the Board of Directors
of Carthage College. Bar Admissions include the Supreme Court
of Indiana and Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern
and Southern Districts of Indiana.
Mr. Wruck is admitted to practice in Illinois and Indiana, and
has litigated cases in the Federal District Courts of Arizona
and Tennessee. Mr. Wruck, has extensive appellate experience,
having represented clients in appeals before the Indiana Court
of Appeals, as well as the 7th Circuit and 9th Circuit Federal
Courts of appeal.
Adjunct Professor
Since 1997, Mr. Wruck has been an Adjunct Professor at Valparaiso
University. He currently heads the Communication Law program.
Courses he teaches include Mass Media Law, Defamation and Privacy
in the Media and Communication Law and the Internet.
Communication Law and the Internet was co-taught with former
U.S. District Court clerk, Jason Paupore. The two co-authored
the casebook used for the course, one of the first of its kind
at the time.
Other Professional Background
Mr. Wruck began working in commercial radio at the age of 14.
By the age of 17, he was one of the youngest top 25 market broadcasters
in the country when he worked the 6pm to 10pm weeknight shift
at Hot 102, WLUM, Milwaukee.
Mr. Wruck has traveled extensively performing various economic
research projects. In 1993, he traveled to Mexico City, Mexico,
investigating the early impact of NAFTA, from the Mexican perspective.
In 1994, Mr. Wruck worked in Washington D.C. for U.S. Congressman
Mark Neuman as a legislative aid, drafting speeches and participating
in meetings with interest groups. A highlight was attending the
State of the Union Address by then President, Bill Clinton.
Continuing his work on international trade research, in 1996,
Mr. Wruck traveled to Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany,
studying the development of the European Union. A detailed paper
was presented to the Board of Directors of Carthage College upon
return.
During the summer of 1996, Mr. Wruck worked in Madrid, Spain,
on a special assignment for Snap-on Tools, Inc. The purpose of
the study was to develop a more efficient distribution channel
between the U.S. based company and their Spanish distributors.
The project was completed with presentation of a paper titled,
"Selling Snap-on in Spain."
Personal
Mr. Wruck is an instrument rated pilot and enjoys flying his
Cessna 177 aircraft around the country on day trips and weekend
jaunts. He also enjoys golf and lecturing on legal matters.
